Requirements:
Companies who have one or more part-time or full-time employee must buy a Hawaii work comp policy for their employees.
Excluded types of work include unpaid workers, interns or voluntary workers for a charitable, religious, educational or a nonprofit entity.
Hawaii Sole-Proprietors, Corp. Officers, LLC Members, and Partners are automatically excluded from coverage, but can choose to be covered.
Sole Proprietors and Partners: If included in coverage must use a minimum payroll of $42,400 as of January 1, 2017
Officers and LLC Members: If included in coverage must utilize a minimum payroll of $800 per week and a maximum of $3,100 per week
