What is a Workers Comp Loss Run Report?

“Loss Runs” is an insurance term referring to an employer’s “Official Work Comp Claims Report.” This loss run report is obtained from all the employer’s work comp insurance carriers that have insured the employer the last 3 years.

Insurance carriers are legally required to give the employer their Loss Run Report.  Most insurance companies want to analyze an employer’s prior work comp claims history/track record before preparing  work comp quotes.

Other insurance terminology used to describe Loss Runs are “Loss History” or “Claims History.”  Loss Runs can be requested from your workers comp insurance agent or from your work comp insurance carrier.
